I shook out the sand, I took out the trash
I warned everyone that nobody should leave
I told the wonderful news to all my friends
And for people I don't know,
I wrote it in chalk on the alsphalt everywhere
That next Tuesday, at half past six,
In the middle of the yard, a miracle will happen:
The ground will burst, a rainbow will cover the entire sky,
Flowers will shoot out of the ground, unearthly birds will line up
And definitely start singing.
A beautiful plywood plane will pass,
Astronauts will wave to us from it,
The windows of heaven will open, but no-one's gonna get hurt,
Only the fertile ground will fill up with joy
That has never even been dreamt of.
Three planets will line up and dance around us,
Swarms of butterflies will shoot merrily through the sky
And a yellow horseman will come down from the clouds,
Who will love us and protect us from all grief
And rid us of all the jerks.
And then at night, or in the twilight before,
A drop of rain will fall on the windowsill in complete silence,
The light will turn off, the draft will slam the doors shut,
And a stranger will emerge from a wall,
To put the kettle on.
I shook out the sand, I took out the trash
I warned everyone that nobody should leave
I told the wonderful news to all my friends
And for people I don't know,
I wrote it in chalk on the alsphalt everywhere
